Why Utica University
Utica University's history program offers remarkable breadth and flexibility. As a history major, students work closely with an extremely accomplished faculty to explore the discipline through scholarship and real-world learning experiences. First among these is the History Department’s highly regarded The History Project. Unique to Utica University, students complete a project in primary source research with the opportunity to have their original work featured in the Project’s annual publication.

Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians. Open to the entire campus community, History Club undertakes several trips each academic year. Past trips have included: Washington, D.C., Gettysburg, Sleepy Hollow, New York, and excursions through the Mohawk Valley corridor to explore the region’s Revolutionary War roots.
