A Message About Hazing
Hazing in New York State is against the law and against the rules of Utica College. Hazing of any type is not tolerated. Specifically, the law prohibits "acts which recklessly or intentionally endanger the mental or physical health or involve the forced consumption of liquor or drugs for the purpose of initiation into or affiliation with any organization." Generally, it is a violation of the law and Utica College's rules whether or not participation in these acts is voluntary.
