Stephanie Yates returns to the UC women’s hockey program to become top assistant for Head Coach Dave Clausen.  Yates graduated from Utica College in 2007 after spending four seasons in net as a player for the Pioneers.  In her final two playing seasons she was UC’s everyday goalie and in four seasons total she compiled a 28-15-5 overall record with four shut outs in 53 games played.  Her career goals against average was 2.06 and in her junior season she compiled a single-season program record 557 saves in route to earning ECAC Women’s West All-Conference Honorable Mention status. 

Yates will take over for Melissa Lomanto, who recently accepted a position as head coach of the Adrian College women’s hockey program.  Her primary coaching emphasis will be on the growth of UC netminder’s Jill Doherty and Kelley Peers, as well as helping Coach Clausen with all facets of the women’s hockey program. 

She is a 2003 graduate of Garden Grove High School in her hometown of Garden Grove, CA. Yates currently resides in Utica, NY.
