Head Coach Jason Rose Jason Rose was named head coach of the Utica College Track & Field and Cross Country teams in the Winter of 2008. His responsibilities include overseeing all facets of six programs including the Men’s and Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field programs as well as the College’s Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams.
Rose spent the three years, prior to Utica, as the assistant coach of Cross Country, Track & Field at D II Tiffin University and Heidelberg University. He handled the training schedules, recruiting duties and other aspects of collegiate coaching while at both universities. In his time coaching in Ohio, Rose has a number of achievements including coaching Two National Champions (Long Jump and 55m Dash), Ohio Cross Country Runner of the Year 2006, several All-Americans as well as team and individual National Qualifiers. During his time at Heidelberg University, Rose and his fellow coaching staff also won Ohio Athletic Conference Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in secondary mathematics education from Wilmington College in 2002. Rose also ran track & field all four years at Wilmington College earning Heartland Collegiate Athletic All-Conference Honors. As a student-athlete he earned individual recognition as a Top 25 All-Ohio cross country runner and he is a former Wilmington College indoor track record holder.
Immediately following graduation from Wilmington he accepted a position as the assistant Track & Field and Cross Country Coach at Washington Court House High School. After three seasons at Washington Court House he helped set a number of conference records as well as coaching the school’s first girl’s regional cross country appearance. After three years at WCH, he accepted a graduate assistant coaching position at Heidelberg University where he completed his master’s degree in education in 2008.
Rose has USA Track and Field Level One and Two Coach’s certification and is a member of the United States Track & Field Coaches Association.
Rose is a graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School in his home town of Tiffin, OH and he currently resides in South Utica.
