Darin Lynch returns for his eighth season as head coach of the UC volleyball team. This is his tenth year as a member of the Pioneer coaching staff, as he served as an assistant coach from 1995-98.
The 2007 season was a successfull one for the Pioneers posting 10-23 overall record and 1-7 record in Empire 8 Conference play. UC proved they were the top local team sweeping rivals SUNYIT, Cazenovia and Hamilton in seven total contests.
In 2006 Lynch guided the Pioneers to a 7-22 overall record and 8th place finish in the Empire 8 Conference standings.
In addition to his experience at the college level, Lynch has coached volleyball at nearby Mount Markham High School for the past 16 years, leading the school to perennial top 10 New York State rankings. He has also coached the men's 18 Elite volleyball team, the Salt City Spikers USAV junior indoor team in Syracuse, NY, and the Central Region Team at the Empire State Games.
During his coaching career, Lynch has earned three bronze medals at the Empire State Games, several high school sectional championships, and has won more than 150 matches.
Lynch, who earned a bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in physical education at the University of Nevada in Reno, is a certified coach of the National Volleyball Coaching Accreditation and a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Lynch currently resides in West Winfield, NY, with his wife, Crystal, and his son, Bryce.
