UTICA, NY - The Utica College field hockey team kept the pressure on for 70 minutes and surrendered just one goal but they could find the back of the cage as they dropped a 1-0 decision in the championship game against Wesley College Sunday at the UC Field Hockey Invitational.

The Pioneers, now 1-1 after defeating St. Lawrence Saturday, were out shot 12-10 and each team earned six penalty corners in the contest.  Lindsey Jester led the way for UC with four shots, while sophomore goalie Monica Storms stopped sevens shots in her first loss of the season.

Brooke Tadlock netted the lone goal of the contest, unassisted, in the 32nd minute to give Wesley a 1-0 they would not relinquish.  Sarah Johnson stopped seven shots in net for the Wolverines. 

The meeting between the two programs marked the first time in program history.  UC returns to action Wednesday when they host Oswego state at 5:00 p.m.
