UC MEN'S GOLF TEAM SHOOTS 671 AND PLACES 11TH AT ECAC CHAMPIONSHIP

Brian Marcantonio RESULTS Victor, NY- The Utica College men’s golf team recorded a team total of 671 for Saturday and Sunday at the ECAC Metro/Upstate Championships held at Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor, NY. The Pioneers placed 11th in the tournament among some the top schools in Upstate New York. UC shot a 343 on Saturday and a 328 on Sunday, marking the college’s best finish in ECAC tournament play in recent years. Ravenwood golf club, rated #5 new public golf course in America, dealt some extreme wind variations throughout the weekend.
Senior Brian Marcantonio (Frankfort) finished 39th with a total score of 165 (+21) for the two-day tournament. He shot 79 on Sunday, 39 on the front and 40 on the back. Alex Mitchell (Marcellus) placed 41st totaling 166 (+22). Mitchell shot 80 on Saturday with a 40 on the front and back. Freshmen Anthony John Gaspa (Whitesboro) recorded a 168 (+24) for the tournament and tied for 44th. Gaspa shot a 79 on Sunday, shooting 40 on the front and 39 on the back.
The Pioneers are back on the course Saturday as they host their last invitational of the fall season at Skenendoah Golf Course in Clinton, NY. The SUNYIT Wildcats and MVCC Hawks are scheduled to challenge the Pioneers at Skenendoah.
