GOODMAN SCORES CAREER-HIGH 27 POINTS IN PIONEERS WIN OVER OSWEGO

Senior forward Pat Goodman netted a career-high 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Utica College men's basketball team defeated host Oswego State 82-71 in non conference play Tuesday night. Junior guard James Patterson added 11 points and nine assists for UC. The contest featured 11 ties, but the Pioneers out scored the Lakers 22-12 in the final 7:55 of the contest to improve to 2-0 overall on the year.

UC MEN HANG ON FOR 84-79 SEASON OPENING VICTORY OVER POTSDAM

The Utica College men's basketball team defeated visiting Potsdam State 84-79 to open its 2009-10 season at the Harold T. Clark gymnasium Sunday afternoon. Four different players scored in double figures for the Pioneers, led by senior forward Patrick Goodman, who tallied a game-high 19 points and added 11 rebounds. Junior point guard James Patterson added 13 points and six assists, while Will Abrams and Geoff Brown each totaled 12 points.

HERRING, KUTAS NAMED 2009 DICK MILLER AWARD WINNERS

The Utica College athletic department announced its 2009 Richard “Dick” Miller Most Inspirational Award Winners Friday. Senior Doug Herring of the men’s basketball team and classmate Katie Kutas of the women’s field hockey team were the recipients of the award that has been presented to a deserving UC male and female student-athlete every year since 1987.
