#21 Jeremy Pierce BOX SCORE WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -The Utica College men's soccer team fell behind 1-0 in the 30th minute on an own goal against nationally-ranked Dickinson College Saturday at the Lycoming College Kick-Off Classic.
Dickinson struck early in the second half when junior forward, Thomas Parkinson slotted the ball past UC junior goalie Kevin Murphy. Freshman forward Oluwaseun Ilbani netted a goal in the 81st of the match to pull the Pioneers within a goal. The goal came off an assist from sophomore forward Jeremy Pierce.
In the 84th minute of match the Pioneers nearly equalized the match on a low driven direct kick from sophomore midfielder Jon Wood, but Dickinson freshman goalie Christian Hall made a brilliant diving save to his right side. Sophomore back Jeff Kassouf nearly finished the rebound opportunity, but was robbed once again by a kick save from Hall.
In the 87th minute the Pioneers created four consecutive corner kicks. Dickinson was able to handle the enormous amount of pressure put on by the Pioneers of Utica. On a counter attack in the 90th minute Dickinson sealed the match with a two on one breakaway when Jacob Hostetler netted a goal from Magen Minzt.
Dickinson held a 13-7 shot advantage for the match. UC junior goalie Kevin Murphy stopped four shots en route to his first loss of the season.
Dickinson would go on to win the Lycoming Kick-Off Classic the following day with a 3-2 victory over Lycoming College.
