PIONEERS FALL SHORT AT ECAC DIVISION III CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Utica College men’s and women’s track and field team featured three athletes competing in the ECAC Division III Championships at Smith College this weekend, all of whom posted respectable finishes. Lauren Penc finsihed sixth in the women's 500 meter dash while Kyriq Williams and Brandon Rudolphe finished eighth and 12th in their respective events.

SPARKS AND PENC SHINE AT MARC DENEAULT MEMORIAL INVITE

Freshman Trenton Sparks won the 500 meter dash and placed second in the triple jump, while junior Lauren Penc placed second in the 400 meter dash as the Utica College track and field teams competed at the Marc Deneault Memorial Invitational hosted by Cornell University Saturday. Sparks' winning time of 1:08.21 was good for first place in the 500 meter dash and he also posted a second place finish in the men's triple jump with a jump of 13.49 meters. Pencs' time of 1:01.20 was good for second in the 400 meter dash.

TRACK & FIELD COMPETES AT ROBERT J. KANE INVITATIONAL SATURDAY

The Utica College track and field program competed at the Robert J. Kane Invitational hosted by Cornell University on Saturday. Junior Lauren Penc led the way for the Pioneers with a fourth place finish in the 200 meter dash (27.21) and a sixth place finish in the 400 meter race (1:01.67). Freshman all-conference jumper Kyriq Williams placed third out of 17 competitors in the high jump with a jump of 1.94 meters (6 feet- 4.25 inches).
