WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FINISHES 1-1 AT HARTWICK INVITATIONAL
The Utica College women’s volleyball team played two close contests, finishing 1-1 on the Binder Gymnasium floor at the Hartwick Invitational on Saturday. Utica (11-16) won the first match against the hometown Hartwick team. After falling behind 2-1 going into the fourth game, the Pioneers won the final two 25-14 and 16-14, to complete the comeback. However, they could not do the same against Alfred. After again falling behind 2-1, the Pioneers won the fourth game 25-19, only to lose 15-11 in the final game.

SUNYIT HANGS ON FOR 3-2 VICTORY OVER UTICA
The Utica College women's volleyball team (9-12) lost 3-2 against visiting SUNYIT (11-7) on the hardwood at the Clark Athletic Center on Wednesday night. After dropping the first game the Pioneers battled back to win the next two and had the Wildcats on the ropes in the fourth set but they failed on two game point opportunities as SUNYIT stormed from behind to win the final two games. Sophomore Chloe Pierce led the way for Utica with 17 kills and 19 digs, while Juleah Vedder paced the tempo for SUNYIT with a game-high 27 kills.

UC GOES 0-4 IN CROSSOVER TOURNAMENT AT HARTWICK
The Utica College volleyball team went 0-4 in the Empire 8 Conference Crossover Tournament hosted by Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY Saturday and Sunday. Chloe Pierce (Toronto, ONT) led the Pioneers with 21 kills, 28 digs and two solo blocks. Melissa Austin (Castorland) also had 21 kills and added 24 digs. Miranda Austin (Castorland) had 62 assists and 28 digs. During the two-day tournament Utica rivaled St. John Fisher, Stevens Institute of Technology, Ithaca, and Nazareth College.
