SCHENECTADY, NY - The Utica College women's soccer team (3-5, 2-1 E8) lost to Union College 5-0 at College Park in Schenectady, NY Wednesday afternoon. Junior goalie Monique Schneeberger stopped three shots in the loss for the Pioneers.

Utica started off slow and fell behind 3-0 in the first 20 minutes of play. Union’s Katie McLean (Newton, MA) scored her fifth goal of the season at 5:38, followed by Allison Cuozzo’s (Norfolk, MA) goal at 14:58 and Katie Weinstein’s (Marblehead, MA) goal at 19:46.

Utica seniors Logan Campell (LaPlume, PA) and Danielle Smith (Verona, NY) each managed a shot on goal for the Pioneers, but they could not score against a tough Union defense that only allowed six shots in the game.

Utica will return home to Charles A. Gaetano Stadium to play Skidmore College Saturday at 6 p.m, while Union (6-3) will play at home against SUNY Fredonia Saturday at 1 p.m.
