Utica, NY – The Utica College football team will be holding a variety of football camps throughout the summer for local and regional football players to take part in. The camps will begin at the end of June and run through the middle of July.

Utica College head football coach Blaise Faggiano will also be hosting a pair of Technique ‘N’ the Trenches (T-N-T) Football Camps. These camps are strictly focused on the offensive and defensive linemen positions. New this year will be an overnight T-N-T camp hosted by Utica College in Utica, NY on July10th and 11th. Rochester’s original T-N-T lineman camp, in its 11th year of existence, will be hosted at West Irondequoit High School in Irondequoit, NY, July 6th through July 8th. The staff, which includes former Buffalo Bill’s offensive line coach Jim “Moose” McNally, will emphasize the fundamentals of balance, leverage, and power as they relate to offensive and defensive line play. Drills will promote competition as well as improvement of basic line techniques. The techniques covered will include run and pass blocking, stance and start, pass rush, and ways to defeat various offensive blocking schemes.

New this summer will be the inaugural Utica College “Air it Out” 7-on-7 Passing Tournament on July 26th on the turf at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium. Teams will compete in a round robin format consisting of four games in the morning, followed by a single elimination tournament in the afternoon. Teams from across the Northeast will compete in a 7-on-7 passing game format. This is a non contact camp and no helmets, shoulder pads, etc. will be allowed. Championship t-shirts and trophies will be presented to each winning team from the large and small school brackets. This camp is designed for high school students (freshman-senior) and registration is $360 per team.

The High School Team Football Camp runs from Monday July 13th to Thursday July 16th on the turf of Charles A. Gaetano Stadium. The evening three-hour camp will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each day and each camper must supply their own helmets, chin straps, shoulder pads, practice jerseys and mouthpieces. The camp’s purpose is to provide a contact football experience for high school athletes. All high school coaches who have athletes attending the camp are invited to assist and will have the opportunity to run their offense and defense during portions of the camp. $75 registration includes a camp shirt and campers will receive and e-mail response confirming registration prior to camp.

The Utica College Youth Football Camp will be held at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium and is geared toward children ages 7-14. The starting date for the camp is Monday June 29th and will conclude on Thursday July 2nd. The camp will run from 9 a.m. until noon each day and is designed to provide a positive football experience for the youth players. In the non-contact camp, special emphasis will be placed on safety while learning the basic skills of blocking, tackling and catching. Every player will learn offensive, defensive, and special team’s positions. Through fun and exciting stations and drills campers will receive top quality instruction form the UC Football Staff. Teams and individuals are encouraged to attend and coaches are welcome to take notes and videotape the drills for use in their program. $65 pre-registration includes a camp shirt and free admission to any 2009 UC football home game.

The Pioneers will begin their 2009 season hosting Becker College at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium on September 5th. Kick-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
