- Donald Rebovich, Ph.D., executive director of the Center for Identity Management and Information Protection (CIMIP) of Utica College, chaired a panel discussion on cyber bullying, cyber dating, and cyber crime at the annual American Society of Criminology Conference held Nov. 4 in Philadelphia.
The session, organized by Cecil E. Greek from Florida State University, included the topics of “Exploring Cyberbullying – Identifying Its Nature” presented by Dr. Manish Madan and Dr. Mahesh K. Nalla from Michigan State University, and “Love Bytes, Date Baits, and Cyber Sweethearts: A Study of Online Dating Crimes and Criminals,” presented by Dr. Aunshul Rege-Patwardhan from Rutgers University.
Other topics included “Online Dating Scams: A Dangerous Crime of the Future,” presented by Shannon Gibson of Florida State University, and “Analytical Assessment on Cyber Crime Deterrence Among College Students” from Bridgewater State College’s Dr.Trevor A. Fronius and Dr. Kyung-Shick Choi.
