WKTV: Utica College adds four new members to the Pioneer Hall of Fame

Utica College added four new inductees to its Pioneer Hall of Fame during a dinner at the Clark Athletic Center on campus, Thursday.
Andrew Benkwitt, Bridgette Plummer, Devon Croll, and the 2012-13 men's ice hockey team were all honored with a spot in the hall.
Benkwitt, a class of 2013 graduate, was the starting quarterback for the Pioneers in all four seasons for the football team. He threw for 10,590 yards in his career with a school-record 88 touchdown passes. He's also the single-season record-holder for pass completions (254), passing yards (3,143), and touchdowns (31).
Plummer, also a class of 2013 graduate, was a four-year star on the softball team, playing in more games than any other athlete in program history with 162 while batting .353 in her career. She was a four-time all-conference selection and set a single-season school record with 40 RBI's in her freshman year.
Croll, a class of 2011 graduate, came to UC after graduating from VVS High School in Verona. She shined for the women's basketball team where she played four seasons becoming one of the program's best shooters, making over 42% of three-point attempts in her senior season, as well as finishing as the third all-time assist leader and fifth-highest scorer in program history.
"It's very humbling, definitely a big honor," Croll told NEWSChannel 2 at the induction dinner. "Especially being local is great. I definitely had a lot of other choices [for college], but staying in the community was great.
