WKTV: Utica College honors veterans with tribute concert
Utica College paid tribute to local veterans Monday by hosting a special Veterans’ Tribute Concert.
The concert was held in the college’s Strebel Auditorium and featured the Utica College Band and the Utica College Choir performing a number of show tunes and patriotic numbers.
Admission to the concert was free, however, monetary and non-perishable food item donations were collected.
Joseph Ancona, the director of Utica Feed Our Vets Food Pantry, says the donations will help feed local Vets.
“In the Utica pantry, we have 600 registered Vets, of which we feed between 250 and 300 every month," Ancona said. "So we’re looking at 13 to 16 thousand pounds of food going out the door each month."
