Utica, NY (09/07/2010) - Film@UC goes to the Caribbean in “Heading South.”

Three wealthy Caucasian women fulfill their desires in a poverty-stricken Haiti during the 1970s. The middle-aged North American tourists embrace the handsome local young men while ignoring the political chaos of Baby Doc’s dictatorship.

The 2005 Laurent Cantet film contains chaos, adventure and trouble in paradise.

“Heading South” will be shown on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. in Macfarlane Auditorium, DePerno Hall, Utica College. The screening is free and open to the public.
