Discussion Kicks Off UC Series

Widespread problems in accessibility of educational programs on the Web

Utica, NY (09/16/2010) - Utica College occupational therapy, physical therapy and therapeutic recreation professors Nancy Hollins, M.J. Gelsomino and Kristin Impicciatore will kick of the first leg of the Adapting Curriculum for Student Success (ACCS) Conversation on Monday (Sept. 20) in the Willard Conference Room, DePerno Hall.The lecture “Website Accessibility: Common Problems” will explore the power of the Internet as well as its flaws. The conversation will entail a discussion of widespread problems in the accessibility of educational programs using examples from occupational and physical therapy and therapeutic recreation.
The conversation begins at 3 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
The ACSS Conversations at UC provide the opportunity for faculty and other interested colleagues to share their experiences in teaching, advising, and working with students with disabilities. The presentations showcase innovative teaching practices, documented successes, and information on current issues that enable faculty and staff to improve the quality of higher education for students with disabilities.
