Huang Awarded Prestigious Clark Endowed Professorship
UC Finance Professor Fourth to Earn Endowed Chair
Laura Casamento, president of Utica College, has announced that Zhaodan (Jordan) Huang, professor of finance, has been awarded the prestigious Harold T. Clark Jr. Endowed Professorship, 2020-2025.
Huang earned his Ph.D. in economics from West Virginia University, his masters from Saskatchewan University, Canada, and his bachelor’s from Renmin University, China. He has been published in many national and international journals including the Journal of Banking & Finance, Journal of Financial Research, Quarterly Review of Economics & Finance, Journal of Economics & Business, and Global Economy Journal. He was awarded best paper at the World Finance Conference for his paper “Momentum, Reversal and the Firm Fundamental Cycle.” His research focuses on areas of investments, asset pricing, and emerging financial markets, and is currently concentrating on the effect of liquidity shocks on the cross-section stock returns, as well as how financial market liquidity affects economic development.
Adviser to the college’s student Investment Club, Huang also enjoys teaching his students about the areas of corporate finance, financial markets and institutions, and investments.
The Harold T. Clark Jr Professorship was endowed with a generous gift from Harold “Tom” Clark, a longtime benefactor of the college, first chair of the college’s board of trustees, and a local entrepreneur. The award is given in order to advance teaching and scholarly activity, benefit the intellectual life of the college, and promote students’ learning in a particular field of study.
Huang is the fourth professor to receive this prestigious award, following in the footsteps of Theodore Orlin, Lawrence Aaronson and Thomas Crist.
